The Open

The plumbing of Wall Street went live on-chain on Oct 28. DTCC's Tokenization Service opened with 34 securities, 20 signed firms including JPMorgan, Citi, BofA, Morgan Stanley, Fidelity and Citadel Securities, running on Canton and a private Besu network. These are issuer-authorized shares in the strictest sense: the record stays at DTC, the token is a one-for-one twin with voting and dividends intact, and it moves 24/7 between KYC'd wallets.

THE 3AM LINE: rwa.xyz printed $3.74B, up about $170M, mostly Bitget's Reality appearing in the table; Securitize added $19.8M on the day of its WSJ ad; Polymarket did not trade for a fifth day.

Top of the Tape

One day: the depository shipped, an ad war broke out, and a bank that said no to OKXICE signed up with DTCC. Same shares, different rails.

Chart of the Day

"The opt-out curve." One line, cumulative objectors against the 62-company roster as a dashed ceiling; the slope steepened at the end, seven names in one notice.

Data points: Oct 15, 9; Oct 19, 16; Oct 23, 22; Oct 26, 26; Oct 27, 33 (notice dated Oct 27, reported Oct 28). Roster: 63 stocks from 62 companies, OKXICE notice of Oct 4. Source: Decrypt; the $17T combined-value figure is Coinpedia's and is not plotted. Caveat: dates mix notice dates and report dates as Decrypt gives them.

Flow Watch

The Rulebook

US. No rule changed; a rail opened under an existing one. DTCC's service runs on the SEC no-action letter it received in December 2025, which lets DTC tokenize a defined set of securities it already holds; American Banker notes the SEC's January definition of tokenized securities covers both this digital-twin model and products like Robinhood's (CoinDesk; American Banker). The TSV register still lists three venues, TSV LLC, OKXICE and Kephas/Perpetuals.com, last updated Oct 21 (SEC). For a holder: a US authorized share with full rights now exists at the depository, reachable only through a participant bank; the offshore tokens you hold are unchanged.

EU. No change. ESMA's DLT28 proposal (Oct 23) and its call for evidence on tokenised collateral in central clearing stand as reported (ESMA).

Other. No change.

Deal Flow

The Playbook (Pro)

Audit the book by structure, today. List every token you hold and tag it: tracker (Ondo GM), backed claim (xStocks, bStocks, Dinari, Coinbase, Reality), authorized share (Securitize, Superstate, Figure, DTCC), derivative (Robinhood EU). Then mark two columns: is the underlying among DTCC's 34, and has the company objected to OKXICE. A tracker on a name that now has a DTC twin and an objecting board is the position most exposed to a basis move and a listing fight. Rebalance toward the structure, not the ticker.

RISK LINE: DTCC's rail is open only to participant firms, its 34 names are unpublished in the press, the offshore tokens carry no shareholder rights whatever the underlying does, and nothing here changes a redemption queue.

Odds

Polymarket, "First to list tokenized stocks in the US?": Robinhood 37%, no listing by Dec 31, 2027 36.3%, Coinbase 12.5%, Kraken 5.9%, Gemini 4%; volume $90,248, unchanged since Oct 24. Coinbase ladder ($8,169): by Oct 31, 3%; by Dec 31, 20%; by Mar 31, 2027, 31%; by Jun 30, 2027, 55%, unchanged. No Kalshi market found. Fifth day without a trade; the depository going live did not count as a "listing" to anyone holding a position.

Sign-off

The depository switched on, the ads traded blows, and 33 boards said no to a venue the banks skipped anyway. That's the tape. The bell isn't ringing.

Corrections and disclosures

One correction to the Oct 28 issue: we reported the OKXICE objector count at 26 "in a notice dated Oct 26"; Decrypt's Oct 28 timeline gives 26 on Oct 26 and 33 in a notice dated Oct 27, so the 26 figure stood for one day, not as the running total at our send time. One note: yesterday's rwa.xyz lead-issuer shares were computed before Reality entered the table; today's shares are on a $3.74B base that includes it, so Robinhood's share is not comparable day to day.
