The Open

The largest single tokenized stock lost half its value in four weeks. Securitize's on-chain SECZ, an issuer-authorized share of Securitize's own NYSE stock, fell from $430.4M on Sept 28 to $208.6M by Oct 25, per Token Terminal. Circle-linked tokens retook the top spot at $383.6M, in a market Token Terminal now puts at $3.3B excluding ETFs.

THE 3AM LINE: rwa.xyz's distributed value slipped about $10M to $3.52B on Oct 26, EQX's first Hyperliquid session produced no reported print, and Polymarket did not move.

Top of the Tape

The biggest token in the market lost half its weight, and the chain with the most new holders got them by giving the stock away. Count carefully.

Chart of the Day

"Stocks eat the perp exchange." Stacked bars of Hyperliquid's average daily volume for two weeks, native crypto below, HIP-3 (stock and commodity perps) above, with the HIP-3 share labeled on each bar.

Data points: Sept 21–27, total $9.163B, native $7.224B, HIP-3 $1.939B (21.2%); Oct 19–25, total $7.564B, native $4.795B, HIP-3 $2.769B (36.6%). Annotation: on Oct 26 stock-related contracts did $1.222B in 24 hours against $1.254B for native altcoins, 23 versus 13 contracts above $10M. Source: TokenPost, Oct 26. Caveat: HIP-3 markets are perpetual futures, derivatives; the HIP-3 bar includes commodities.

Flow Watch

The Rulebook

US. No change at the SEC: the TSV register still lists three venues, last updated Oct 21 (SEC). Changed at the issuer level: Nasdaq says it will object to its own stock on tokenized venues, citing fragmented liquidity; Latham & Watkins notes a non-objection cannot be withdrawn after the 30-day window (CoinDesk, Oct 24). For a holder: a venue's list shrinks only inside that window, and silence locks the stock in.

EU. Changed, in words only. ESMA chair Verena Ross proposed "DLT28", an optional pan-EU regime for issuing and transferring tokenised securities, in a Reuters Breakingviews piece on Oct 23; six DLT Pilot infrastructures had issued €546M by July (KuCoin). ESMA's call for evidence on tokenised CCP collateral runs to Jan 15, 2027 (Securities.io). For a holder: a proposal, not a rule; nothing changes yet.

Other. No change.

Deal Flow

The Playbook (Pro)

Hedge the backed claim with the perp, now that the perp is liquid. Twenty-three Hyperliquid stock-linked contracts cleared $10M a day on Oct 26. So a holder of NVDAx or NVDAB can short the matching HIP-3 perp over a weekend and keep the token. Size the hedge to the token's dollar value, check funding every eight hours, and close at Monday's 09:30 ET open. The by-product is a number: the token-to-perp basis at Friday's close, logged weekly, shows which issuer's claim trades closest to the share.

RISK LINE: HIP-3 perps are derivatives priced off Hyperliquid's oracle, closed to US persons, with funding that can turn against the hedge and a liquidation engine that ignores your spot token.

Odds

Polymarket, "First to list tokenized stocks in the US?": Robinhood 37%, no listing by Dec 31, 2027 36.3%, Coinbase 12.5%, Kraken 5.9%, Gemini 4%; volume $90,248, unchanged since Oct 24. Coinbase ladder ($8,169): by Oct 31, 3%; by Dec 31, 20%; by Mar 31, 2027, 31%; by Jun 30, 2027, 55%, unchanged. No Kalshi market found. Three days without a trade.

Sign-off

The biggest token halved, the perp exchange turned into a stock exchange, and the tape barely moved. That's the tape. The bell isn't ringing.

Corrections and disclosures

No corrections to the Oct 26 issue. Two updates: the Aave "Equities Hub" item, flagged as unconfirmed, is now Aave's own post (TokenPost via Pluang, Oct 25); Tech Times on Oct 26 still reported 16 OKXICE objectors, citing Reuters of Oct 23, which predates the Oct 23 notice listing 22. The Oct 24 issue gave SECZ's Oct 23 close as $7.77; Cointelegraph has $7.80. Editor to confirm.
